Described by Le Monde as “possessing the genius one finds in those that knowhow to forget themselves”, since winning First Prize at the Maria CanalsInternational Piano Competition in Barcelona, British pianist Viv McLean hasperformed in all the major venues in the UK, as well as throughout Europe,Japan, Australia and the USA. He has performed concertos with orchestrassuch as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, LondonPhilharmonic Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, Halle Orchestra, BBCConcert Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Viva, Orchestra ofthe Swan and the Northern Chamber Orchestra under the baton of suchconductors as Daniel Harding, Wayne Marshall, Christopher Warren-Green,Owain Arwell Hughes, Carl Davis, Rebecca Miller and Marvin Hamlisch.Viv often plays with the Adderbury Ensemble and the Le Page Trio and hasalso collaborated with groups such as the Leopold String Trio, Ensemble 360,the Ysaye Quartet, the Sacconi String Quartet, members of the Elias,Allegri, Carducci and Tippett Quartets, as wel as with artists such asNatalie Clein, Daniel Hope, Lawrence Power, David Le Page, Adrian Brendeland Mary Bevan. As well as regularly playing at the Glossop Festival, Vivhas appeared at many other festivals including the International BeethovenFestival in Bonn, the Festival des Saintes in France, Vinterfestspill iBergstaden in Norway and the Cheltenham International Festival in the UK. Hehas recorded for labels such as Sony, Naxos, Nimbus, Stone Records, RPORecords and ICSM Records and has also recorded regularly for BBC Radio 3 aswell as for radio in Germany, France, Australia, Norway & Poland.
